Bakio is a community-powered platform for discovering and comparing specialty coffee. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. You may browse Bakio without an account, but certain features (reviews, submissions, shop links) require login.
Reviews, ratings, and submissions on Bakio represent the personal opinions and contributions of individual users. Bakio does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted content. Ratings reflect the subjective experience of the reviewer.
By submitting content, you grant Bakio a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display your reviews and contributions on the platform. You retain ownership of your content.

Bakio reserves the right to remove content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate accounts of repeat offenders.
If you own, operate, or are employed by a coffee roaster, cafe, or vendor listed on Bakio, you must disclose this affiliation in your profile. Vendors and their representatives may not review their own coffees or products. They may submit corrections, suggest additions, and report inaccuracies through the submission system.
Undisclosed conflicts of interest may result in review removal and account restrictions.
Bakio displays expert scores and ratings sourced from third-party publications including CoffeeReview.com and others. All external ratings, scores, and review content remain the intellectual property of their original publishers. Bakio displays these scores for informational purposes only with proper attribution and links to original sources.
Roaster Scores are calculated by Bakio based on publicly available data from multiple sources (expert reviews, industry awards). The methodology is documented and applied consistently across all roasters.
Bakio is committed to transparency in how coffee data is collected, scored, and displayed:
Users may report that a coffee is no longer available at a particular vendor. Vendor representatives may also suggest additions or removals. All reports are reviewed before changes are applied to ensure accuracy.
You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Deleting your account permanently removes all your personal data, reviews, and submissions. This action cannot be undone.
Reviews on Bakio must reflect your genuine, personal experience with the product. You agree that:
Bakio reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines, appear inauthentic, or are identified as manipulative through automated or manual review.
Bakio calculates quality scores and rankings using a documented, algorithmic methodology applied equally to all listed coffees and vendors. Our scoring system uses multiple data sources including expert reviews, industry awards, community ratings, and retail data.
Rankings are not influenced by payment, advertising, or business relationships. All vendors and roasters are treated equally regardless of any commercial arrangement. Our methodology is publicly documented at bakio.co/about.
Scores may change as new data becomes available or as the scoring algorithm is improved. Historical score changes are not retroactively communicated.
Bakio provides coffee information and community reviews on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the platform, including but not limited to prices, availability, ratings, and quality scores.
Coffee prices and availability change frequently and may not reflect current conditions at the time of your visit. Bakio is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of products purchased from listed vendors. Links to external websites are provided for convenience and do not constitute endorsement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bakio and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email or through a notice on the platform. Your continued use of Bakio after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
